Lebron Threatens Alabama Football With Legal Action

Lebron James goes after Alabama Football, claiming copyright infringement.

Published

on

It may sound crazy, but it’s true. Lebron James recently threatened legal action against the University of Alabama. What on Earth could they have done to him?!  I mean, sure, we all know he’s an Ohio State guy. But come on, you don’t just get to sue a college because their football program is always better than the one you’re a fan of!

But it turns out, James had good reason to send them a copyright infringement letter.

Over his career, Lebron has continued to grow and evolve as a player, and it has led to consistent success on the court. But he’s also evolved off the court. His basketball related brand alone is already earning him insane amounts of money. But he’s also reached out into other areas and has found similar degrees of success.

Most recently, he launched a video and social media platform called Uninterrupted. And he’s already started to create regular content, including a new series called The Shop, which centers around the real-life conversations that take place in a barbershop. The first episode was posted on the Uninterrupted twitter account on March 6th, 2018.

Then, on March 26th, the official Alabama Football twitter account posted a video with the caption “Shop Talk Episode 1 coming soon!” It was previewing a series in which Alabama football players, both past, and present, talk about life and football while at a barbershop. Sounds a little familiar, doesn’t it? You can see why Lebron felt like they were biting his style.

Now, is the basic concept of capturing conversations had in a barber shop an especially original idea? No. Of course not. There’s been like three movies about it! But James’ Uninterrupted actually has various copyright and trademark rights that the Alabama show could easily be infringing upon. So it’s very possible he has a case.

Alabama has yet to publicly respond, but it’s clear that Lebron wants them the to alter their concept, if not scrap it entirely. But Alabama football is not exactly known for backing down from a challenge. This is shaping up to be quite a battle!

From Gymnastics to Parkour: Silke Sollfrank Gained her Freedom From Competitive Sport

Published

on

Silke Sollfrank has grown up as a competitive professional gymnast. Consequently, she was not very happy and got tired of the pressure of competition and the rules of the sport.

This all changed when she was introduced to the freestyle world of parkour. She noted that she has more freedom of movement than worrying about her toes, pointing all the time.

Parkour is a training discipline that entails jumping, running, and climbing around urban landscapes. In a public statement, Sollfrank said that she needs to set her limits and focus on her movement rather than comparing herself to other people.

She also added that she was constantly comparing herself to other women when she was doing gymnastics and trying to become better and exceed their talent and skills.

“Parkour kind of slapped me in the face and showed me: ‘This is not this is not what you want.'”

When she immersed herself in parkour in the year 2015, she had never looked back. Today, the 23-year-old has competed in the world’s biggest parkour competitions. She made her debut at the Aurora Games in New York and made the podium in the Red Bull Art of Motion in 2019.

Besides collaborating in the Netflix show coined “Ultimate Beastmaster,” she was also the last woman standing in her Ninja Warrior Germany journey. Also, she was the only woman in the 15-member parkour group of Ashigaru. Today, she wants to invite and encourage more individuals to follow in her footsteps and take up parkour’s freestyle movement.

“Doesn’t matter how old you are, doesn’t matter what gender you are, as long as you can see that you enjoy movement, that you enjoy challenging yourself.” She also admitted that she had struggled but fortunately overcame her fear of heights to compete further.

“There shouldn’t be any fears of starting because everyone starts at their own level. Some people might have a lot of body experience and start at a higher level. Some people don’t know about anything, would like to know how to do parkour and they start from zero. And that’s totally fine.”
